In recent years, the number of students attending high school who require further coaching in the Japanese language is at an incline. It is very common for these students to struggle while studying various subjects due to a lack of adequate Japanese proficiency. This manuscript compares the terminology of two textbooks, both of which are on Japanese history, as an example. Approximately 60% of the commonly used words were consistent among the two textbooks. It is important to note however, that many of these words are specialized words and aren’t typically learned through Japanese language education alone. Therefore, it is imperative that Japanese language education is coordinated with other subjects in order to fit into school curriculums.
