While classes using anime are practiced in the field of Japanese language education, they are not sufficiently shared, and there is little longitudinal practice to improve classes. This paper reports on the practice of Japanese society and culture course using anime and discusses the awareness of beginner-level learners in improving their Japanese language skills. According to the results of the questionnaire, it was found that the course was meaningful for beginner-level learners to know what they can do with their Japanese language skills, as they felt their Japanese language skills improved and gained confidence by understanding and communicating about topics of interest to them with their own Japanese language skills.
