Abstract
In management activities, in general the stand-alone unit (the individual, the corporation, or the nation) is understood as the foundation, and while competing to make profit it is expected to contribute to society. However, as the author argues, society is continuing to change dramatically, and there is a move from a “results paradigm”(a focus that emphasizes results) to a “process paradigm” (a focus on the process in which innovation occurs as the third space). From strategies and practices to the ways in which meetings are conducted, in various areas the corporations that are adopting process paradigm-like initiatives are raising workers’ levels of motivation, succeeding in organizational reforms, and continuously producing high levels of performance. In this case, these kinds of organizations do not emphasize the stand-alone unit, but rather focus on how to strengthen the relationships among these units. In this research, the author suggests refining the concept of management that emphasizes relationality.
