Study on Assessment of Pedestrian Traffic for Diagnosis of City Center Activation

Abstract

It is most basic way to understand the activation of the city to measure the pedestrian traffic. Many local governments have adopted this method. However, In that way, there is a limit, such as cannot be inter-regional comparison. In this paper, we tried to analyze the Amagasaki city center a new three ways to complement the conventional measurement method, to verify the effectiveness and limitations of these new ways.
