Japan Medical Association is pushing a project to build the Japan Medical Association Information Network System, which consists of office-based physicians who have a central role in community health. In order to grasp the actual condition to use information technology in the Japan Medical Association Information Network System and to reveal problems to promote, we conducted an online survey in conjunction with Japan Medical Association about the present state of the informatization in medical association office in Japan in January 2007.In this paper, we analyzed the results from four viewpoints of informatization: 1) hardware (improvement of infrastructure), 2) human ware (mainly office staff and members of the board), 3) philosophy to promote the use of Information technology, 4) software (include what the system is and how to promote the use of information technology).
