Abstract

Social contribution activities for local society (SCALS) which have weak relation with corporation's business have faceddifficulty in termof survive since global recession in 2008. This paper describes a diagnosis result on the sustainability/growth opportunityof SCALS which were executed by local companies, from three perspectives, with utilizing two analytical frameworks which weredetermined based on previous studies. The comparison between SCALS executed by 44 local companies and SCALS executed by 13benchmark companies, which operate global/nationwide business, indicated that local companies executed more SCALS which havestrong relation with their own business than benchmark companies.
