The parametric motor has many excellent features compared with ordinary single phase motors, and is expected to have many practical applications. In this paper, to make such motors more practically useful, methods for improving the characteristics of parametric motors are discussed, utilizing the equivalent circuit of induction motor. Results yielded a parametric motor with excellent performance. That is, the power factor, output power and efficiency were greatly improved, by increment of effective magnetic flux with enlargement of rotor diameter, and by obtaining the optimum value of rotor length. And the motor size and weight were reduced without the deterioration of motor characteristics, by reducing the dimension of magnetic path of exciting core.
