This paper describes an analysis of the electrical characteristics of current trasformers (CTS) using SPICE over wide current ranges, with the magnetic characteristics of core materials represented by means of the Jiles-Atherton model. This analysis allows the parameters of the Jiles-Atherton model to be accurately determined and dynamic magnetic hysteresis to be expressed. The calculated results for the characteristics of CTs agree well with the measured results. Consequently, the proposed method is useful for designing CTs and other transformers.
