An asymmetrical and sensitive magneto-impedance (MI) effect was obtained in crossed anisotropy sputtered films magnetized with a dc-biased ac current. The crossed anisotropy amorphous films (CoFeB) were made on glass substrates using a dc sputtering with two layers of 4.5 μm thickness each applying a dc field of 270 Oe along with designed anisotropy direction. A linear MI characteristic with the field detection sensitivity of 12%/Oe was obtained, which creates a sensitive linear field sensor without any dc bias field.
