幼児キャンプの効果に関する研究

－ 幼児用自然体験活動効果測定尺度の作成とその試用 －

抄録

In order to measure the effectiveness of preschool camp activities, we sought to develop a Preschool Outdoor Experience Effectiveness Scale (POEES) and to use it to examine the effectiveness of camp outings held during preschool years (5-6 years old age) at a multilateral level. Taking into account the importance of its validity and credibility, we created the scale with four measurable factors— sociability, assertiveness, understanding of nature, and adaptiveness to nature—which were further divided into 12 items.

Next, we conducted a survey using our POEES. For the experimental group, we analyzed a group of 30 children who participated in preschool camping activities, and for the control group, we investigated a group of 30 children who did not attend the camp. To ensure accurate examination results, we chose a control group comprising preschoolers who attended the same kindergarten and were of the same age and gender as the experimental group. At the conclusion of our examination, comparing pre-camp and post-camp results (one month after attendance), we found a significant improvement among camp participants in all factors as well as a higher total-scale score compared with those of the control group.
