Automatic title keywords extraction and automatic Kana conversion of titles written in Japanese were applied to the JICST 7580 File from 1975 to 1980 of which data size was 2,200,000 citations. The actual use of them in JICST Current File is introduced based on answers of the questionnaires concerning the use study. Advantages and disadvantages of keywords extracted from titles, some matters to be kept in mind when using them and improvements on computer programs and so on which enable it to process huge amount of data in the JICST 7580 File are described.
