Abstract

JICST has developed JOISwithSTN that allows customers to search and retrieve the data of STN database by using JOIS commands. ANSI Z39.50which is the standard protocol for Information retrieval is used as the gateway connection between STN and JOIS. In this report, the functions of this system is described with the comparison of JOIS command and Z39.50 protocol.
