The author has recently experienced an interesting and valuable case of vesical calculus obtained from a man of 78 years of age. From his history, the author could not obtain any evidence of infection which might be inferred to have resulted in causing the present one. Before the bloody manipulation, it seemed to be three large stones through the close observation of the cystoscopic and röntgenographic examination. But the observation on the operation has shown that each of them consisted of many small stones. Consequently, the anther obtained 32 small stones. The colour of every one of them is dark violet and the form is round like a tablet. Its cut surface showed 6 layers, each of them being composed of different chemical substances. The following indicate the result of chemical analysis.
st. layer …… Oxalic salt.
nd. layer …… Uric salt.
rd. layer …… Phosphoric salt.
th. layer …… Oxalic salt + Xanthine.
th. layer …… Oxalic salt + Uric salt.
th. layer …… Xanthine.
