Abstract
It was found that π-C3H5Fe(CO)3Br catalyzed the autoxidation of hydrocarbons. The active species of the catalyst was kinetically estimated to be an oxygen complex, namely π-C3H5Fe(CO)3O2, which was formed by the reaction of π-C3H5Fe(CO)3Br with oxygen. The oxygen activated on the π-allyl complex was able to undergo hydrogen abstraction reaction or addition reaction to the double bond of substrates.
