Abstract

This report aims to discuss the degree of mobility and characteristics of trip frequency for disabled persons in Machida area. We studied 1) the relation between restriction in mobility degree of handicap, 2) trip frequency relation the degree of handicap and mobility, 3) the desired frequency of trips, causes of abandonment of plans for trips and so on. We can conclude that trip frequency is influenced by the severity of degree of handicap and mobility. Severely disabled persons have a tendency to abandon plans to go out although they generally wish to go out more often than they are able to do at present. A significant reason is that suitable transportation is not supplied for them.
