Tenure of residential lands and houses of the elderly and the renewal of their houses have been clarified from the survey at typical built-up areas in Tokyo. “Households with related members of the elderly”, who are characterized with high-percentage of owned houses and largeness in lands and houses, occupy relatively large areas in the total built-up areas. It gives an influence on the renewal of houses. On the other hand, since there are differences in the renewal condition for the areas, it is essential to settle the renewal policy and housing for the elderly and their family matched with the respective areas.
