THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER IS TO ANALYZE THE EXTENT OF THE VISUAL RANGE ON STREETS IN URBAN AREA USING 3-DIMENSIONAL SIMULATION MODEL. USUALLY THE VISUAL RANGE IS INTERRUPTED BY BUILDINGS. WE DEFINED THIS INDEX AS THE RATA OF INTERRUPTED SKY. TO ANALYZE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STREET LANDSCAPE, WE CALCULATE THIS INDEX FOR VARIOUS SIMULATION PATTERNS. AND WE SELECTED STREETS EVERY USE DISTRICT IN CENTER AREA OF OITA CITY, AND CALUCULATED THIS INDEX OF EACH STREETS USING 3-DIMENTIONAL BUILDINGS DATA OF OITA CITY.
