Abstract
THIS PAPER ANALYZES THE IMPACT OF JR-HANWA RAILWAY'S STATIONS ON THE DIFFERENT LAND USE TYPES BY GIS (ARC/INFO). THE LAND USE DATA IN 1973 AND 1990 IS DIGTIZED FROM THE LAND USE SNAP OF SCALE 1:30000. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE 8 STATIONS HAVE A STRONG IMPACT ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF LAND USE. THE RANGE OF THE IMPACT IS 1100M FOR URBAN, RESIDENTIAL, INDUSTRIAL AND 300M FOR COMMERCIAL USE IN BOTH 1973 AND 1990. THE IMPACT AREA OF EACH STATION ON RESIDENTIAL USE RANGES FROM 500M TO 1400M IN 1990 DEPENDING ON THE TYPE AND LOCATION OF STATIONS. THE IMPACT IS ENFORCED DUE TO THE FORMATION OF THE GROUPING OF STATIONS DETERMINED BY THE DISTANCE AMONG THE STATIONS. IT IS POSSIBLE TO KNOW THE TYPE OF STATIONS AND ITS IMPACT AREA BY ANALYZING THE LAND USE DATA.
