Abstract
IN ORDER TO FIND BETTER URBAN STRUCTURE WHICH MAINTAINS GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT, A MODEL WAS MAKE WHICH SHOWS THE OPTIMAL LAND USE BY MINIMIZING THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR TRIPS. IN THIS MODEL THREE FACTORS WERE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. THE FIRST IS ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR VERTICAL MOVEMENTS, WHICH CAN BE REPRESENTED AS DENSITY. THE SECOND IS THAT UNIT FLOORS WERE DIVIDED INTO TWO, RESIDENTIAL FLOORS AND BUSINESS FLOORS. TOTAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION WAS CALCULATED FOR COMMUTING BETWEEN RESIDENTIAL FLOORS AND BUSINESS FLOORS, TRIPS BETWEEN BUSINESS FLOORS, AND TRIPS WITHIN RESIDENTIAL FLOORS. THE THIRD IS TO CONSIDER OPEN SPACES LIKE ROADS OR PARKS, WHICH CORRELATE TO FLOOR AREA. CONSIDERING OPEN SPACES, THE DENSITY OF THE OPTIMAL LAND-USE IS NOT EXTREMELY HIGH. IT CAN BE SAID THAT THIS SIMULATION SHOWS A COMPARATIVELY REALISTIC 3D URBAN FORM.
