The purpose of this article is to clarify the situation of traditional networks in rural society which is supposed one of the characters of rural villages. We did an interview research with the residents to grasp the traditional networks and a survey using a questionnaire to recognize the residents' consciousness of traditional ceremonies in Yanagisawa, Mukawa Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. As conclusions, first we observed the 4 traditional networks and showed the alteration of each one. Second, the residents' consciousness of some traditional ceremonies are especially declining. Third, the relationship between the alteration of the 4 traditional networks and the residents' consciousness are grasped. And last of all, we explained that the social and spatial character of each network is related with its form of the alteration.
