The current Public Involvement (PI) process in the US is frequently quoted in Japan but their variety is still unclear because of a lack of appropriate global information. We conducted three kinds of surveys: the raft fax survey, the detailed e-mail suvey and the interview survey to the MPO staff in the US cities in order to attain the valuable data related to their PI efforts. The survey results indicated that the diversity of PI efforts in the US. Can not be negligible though the further research to gain more detailed answers from State DOT staff.
