For people, one of basic aims to use buildings is to own an independent space from surrounding. It seems important for urban planning and architectural design to show, how buildings are realizing independence from surrounding in urban condition, because it will be basic information to recognize locational conditions of buildings in built-up area. In this research an independence acquired by scale, intervals of buildings are discussed. This paper shows a supplementary relation between scale and interval of buildings from analysis of actual build-up area. The supplementary relation is strong in small buildings and weak in big buildings.
