Abstract
This paper reports on the "Dialogue with the City" forum of 1,100 people, with participants working interactively, assisted by technology, to create a common vision for Perth Metropolitan Area. The idea of a huge town meeting was developed and applied several times by American NPO(America Speaks). In case of Perth, 110 tables of each 10 participants identified what should be kept/changed, and set priorities among these issues. And they played a planning game to make a map of desirable urban development including growth boundary, development scenario, areas protected from development, urban centres, densities and transport system. The data of 110 maps will be analyzed to help determine guidelines and plans for future Perth.
