Abstract
In this paper, a quantitative method about open space among neighboring buildings is discussed. A key concept of this method is a direct sum partition of open space relation with building pattern. Searching this relationship sweep line algorithm by a building normal line is utilized. On an implementation, this method has three steps. Those are differential, matching to a near building and set open space of neighboring buildings. As a case study, calculated open space is visualized on GIS. And a relationship between parameter: H0 -threshold distance between buildings - and covered open space pattern is mentioned from a point of view of dwelling environment improvements.
