Abstract
It is expected to promote restoration of buildings followed the optimum standard regulated by the subsidy, in order to keep and enhance the historic townscape of the Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings(IPDGHIB). This paper deals with a case of the Seki-jyuku IPDGHIB in Kameyama City, where local administrative staff promotes restoration of buildings providing with technical supports of survey, planning and design and technical guidance of works. The aim of this study is to clarify an effect of this local governmental support system on enhancement of historic buildings and historic townscape, by analyzing restoration of building, historic building elements of restored buildings and the evaluation of local people to the support system.
