Abstract
Non-daily use of place creates the opportunity for the people who experienced to focus on, and develops emotional attachment or interest. In other words, an attractive place requires not only the spatial characteristics but also the good use. So, this study was aimed at describing the use of place and spatial characteristics specifically in Street Art-plex KUMAMOTO. It's the entertainment that offers various performance arts in the urban space. The posterior reports written by staff were analyzed by contents and reveal the estimation of the use. And spatial characteristics were classified into 4types and examined from each typical example. As the result, the connection between the use and special characters were shown by the point of the link to space.
