Abstract
Graffiti is drawn in cities. This study analyzes the relationship between the urban elements and the distribution of graffiti, to obtain the suggestion of the characteristics of graffiti writer's behavior. In the studied area, within 600m in radius from Koenji station, we found 3720 graffiti at 1294 points. The density of all graffiti is highest in about 130m distance from the station and decrease to about 300m. The Communication points appear mainly in commercial zone, and the Exposure graffiti appear mainly in the southern part of commercial zone. Concerning to the object on which graffiti written, on private building is limited near to station and on public object is wider, which is related to guilt consciousness of the writers.
