Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a closedown model of commercial facilities. The model focuses on change in potential of pulling customers calculated by the selection probability allocation model, and is based on the working assumption that a fifty percent reduction in potential as compared to the initial one causes closedown of facilities. The applicability of this model is tested by analysis of the closedowns and survivals of large-scale electrical appliance stores in Hanamaki, Kitakami, Oshu and Ichinoseki cities in Iwate Prefecture. As a result, the proposed model showed a good fit to the observed situation.
