Abstract

The importance of promoting Machi-zukuri at the district and local level is now widely recognized. In this context, there are many support measures such as Machi-zukuri organizations and community fund. However, the idea of comprehensive mechanisms and financial frameworks is limited. This paper aims to analyze present conditions and limitations of comprehensive platforms and financial frameworks in Takahama City. Takahama Model deals with the comprehensive measures at the school district. Organizations, vision and plan, projects and activities, financial resources, community facilities are required for Machi-zukuri and these are closely related. Through the reviewing the institution and practical implementation of Takahama Model, it was found out that the platform was well organized, but there are some limitations from the viewpoint of independence and sustainability.
