The purpose of this paper is to clarify the change and the actual condition of land use in the block unit as for Taira central city area in Iwaki. And therefore, it was approached the change and the actual condition of land use through analyzing site and block units from 1970 to 2010 by the field survey and House map Zenrin on GIS. As a result of this study, about the change of land use, it found that the proportion of tertiary industry offices and personal house has decreased, on the other hand, the proportion of vacant, open space and parking is on the rise. Then, it was possible to identify the block great change of the land use. These blocks can be seen in the road along the specific. In addition, it was possible to clarify the pattern and its features about six elements of largely change. In blocks where land use has largely changed, it enables to classify 4 patterns in personal house and 2 patterns in tertiary industry offices as pattern in land use changes.
