Abstract
Many people are depressed and suicidal in a stressful society, and university students also have stress. The purpose of this study is to investigate and to clarify the characteristics of the "Third Place," which is used to relieve stress for university students. We investigated and analyzed the use of the Third Place, particularly aspects such as the type of the Third Place, ways to relieve stress, the cost, and the visiting time. Regarding the types of Third Place used, there are many large shopping malls, gyms, and karaoke shops. These places are often used once or more per month and many people use these places in the afternoon. People often stay for more than one hour, but less than three. We also classify the Third Place into four categories based on usage behaviors or distances.
