Abstract
The purpose of this research is to clarify the relationship between the space maintained by "Fishery village environment improvement project" and the spatial transformation in the normal times, and to clarify the difference between "Fishing village environment improvement project" and the reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake. This research is focus on fishing villages in Sanriku region, Iwate prefecture, which is the Tsunami-prone area. The conclusion of this study is the following. "Fishing village environment improvement project" is mainly focused on small-scale space improvement within the village, and it is not intended to alter the village structure. Therefore, "Fishery village environment improvement project" does not drastically improve the safety of the entire village to tsunami disaster. On the other hand, the reconstruction after tsunami disaster greatly changes the structure of the village.
