Abstract
Because of the The Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear accident, rural villages had many problems including dramatic population decline and land degradation. In the villages of Odaka ward, Minamisoma city, Fukushima prefecture, which are the objects of this research, topography makes various lives. After the disaster, however, considerable reduction of farming and new forms of land use such as solar power generation facilities and waste temporary storage place have happened. Other agricultural lands must be managed to prevent devastation. While the problems for each village are diverse, the fundamental nature of land, which has been managed by villages for a long time is changing.
