Abstract
Toward the 2020 Olympic Game in Tokyo, there is increasing awareness of strategic use of stadiums, and one of the issues is integrated development around stadiums. Though J. League has long pointed it out, yet different facilities and locations of different home stadiums makes it unclear to reach the solution. Therefore, this study aims to classify the home stadiums of all J. League clubs and to discuss the way toward integrated development around the stadiums. Analyzing building sites of the stadiums and landuse regulations around them as well as arranging basic information of the stadiums such as capacity, ownership, management, opening year, the conclusion highlights three different types of J. League home stadiums: Urban stadiums, suburban stadiums, and fringe stadiums, pointing out the necessity to consider the landuse regulation designated at and around the stadiums.
