Abstract
The landscape with hot-air-balloons in the sky makes a pleasant and dreamy impression on the observers. The aim of this study is to make clear the characteristics of the landscape with balloons and to find out the typical landscapes of it, by analyzing the entries for the photo cotests in Saga International Balloon Fiesta (1988, 1989) and Suzuka Balloon Festival (1992). We classified the flying situation and the view points of balloon by 565 photos. As the results we found out 9 types of the landscape with hot-air-balloons, and understood the visual structure of the typical landscape and the importance of natural elements in the background for emphasizing a fantastic and dreamy impression.
