Abstract
This paper explores residents' perspectives on a river landscape. The perspectives are obtained by the projec-tive method of comparing photographs taken by both adults and children.
This paper indicates that adult residents view the present river landscape through a filter of childhood memo-ries. This implies that adults project a chronological perspective onto the spatial one when viewing their river envi-ronment. This chronological perspective of the river landscape underscores the significance of planning and man-gement of river environments as they pertain to environmental experiences for children.
