The Analysis and Estimation of Sequential Human Response Caused by the View from the Road

Abstract

The purpose of this study is the establishment of method to evaluate sequential view from expressway. The result of this evaluation can be useful in the visual planning stage of expressway. In this method, the meaning of sequential change of scene is important. The major criteria are ‘potency’, ‘activity’, and ‘ evaluation’. The result of factor analysis shows the importance of the ‘ activity’. The psychological response of driver is estimated by the result of experiment. Good correlation is observed in the comparison between the estimation and the response measured directly from subjects.
