Regional and temporal analysis of car usage by car gasoline consumption modeling

Abstract

It is necessary to manage car usage demand because progress of the motorization in recent years yields much more car use. In this paper, in order to find the effective measure for demand management, we studied regional and temporal characteristics of car usage in prefectural level from 1965 to 1990. We developed the per car gasoline consumption model, then we could find the regional and temporal changes of car usage and the potential policy variables for demand management.
