Abstract
This study aims to reveal issues on route management of container trailer trucks for improving roadside environment in the Hanshin Coastal Area. This study is based on data from an OD (origin-destination) and questionnaire survey to container trucking companies. In this study, we clarified the changes of the trucking company attitudes to diverting from inland routes to coastal routes by raising toll of inland mutes or reducing the toll of coastal routes. Then we showed the need of flexible toll charging policy (ex. reduced toll for nighttime trips or short distance trips etc) for encouraging roundabout transportation.
