Future Direction of Pharmaceutical Library in Learning Support

Abstract

From fiscal 2006, the six-year system of the pharmaceutical education starts with the aim of training the pharmacist as “a medical person” of higher quality. New learning methods such as on-the-job training, small group discussion, and role play will be introduced in the six-year system curriculum. In such a situation, the future direction of pharmaceutical libraries in learning support was examined, along with the model core curriculum and the pharmaceutical preparatory education guideline which were summarized by the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
