Abstract

For a long period of time, university libraries have collected, maintained and provided data and documents aimed at supporting the education and research of the students, faculty and staff of the university. Although the roles of university libraries have repeatedly gone through changes in the past, due to the introduction of intelligence technology and restructuring of the internal organization within the university, currently, definitive changes are urged. For example, the library and information center has unified; university libraries are required to function as information centers as well. Under these conditions, the new education program which encompasses six years of study for eligibility for obtaining a license as a practicing pharmacist starts next spring. Therefore, the duties of the libraries of pharmacy and related systems are forced to change drastically especially due to the rapid development of intelligence technology. Furthermore, contribution to the society and support of education is essential.
