Abstract

Cases of myopia have recently increased, and high myopia has become a concern because it can cause various eye disorders and eventually lead to blindness. Myopia has been reported to be associated with environmental and genetic factors, and therefore, early intervention is critically important for prevention of progression to high myopia. Optical, pharmacological, and environmental approaches have been tried as preventive measures against myopia progression, and each has demonstrated a certain effect in several studies. In this review, the most updated information on the methods for myopia control is introduced with details of each approach.
