By using a recently reported hydrothermal method we have synthesised both superconducting (SC) and non-SC tetragonal FeS and analysed the effects of high-pressure. When an excess of Fe is present we observe localisation effects which can be supressed with pressure. For SC FeS, we show for the first time, that with increasing pressure the overall resistivity of FeS is reduced and that Tc gradually decreases and diminishes around 2 GPa. We also attempted to the increase the Tc of FeS by investigating for the first time, the effect of carrier doping using Co/Mn as electron/hole carriers. In both cases we show that with even a small amount of doping around 1% Tc unfortunately decreases. The reasons why will be briefly discussed.
