A simple analytical analysis shows that, contrary to what has been known to date, individual CDW pinning can occur even for small values of the Fukuyama-Lee-Rice parameter. The present analytical results provide a new explanation for some puzzling numerical simulation results on CDW. A test is proposed to determine the pinning nature by further numerical simulations.
