The structure of a radical in gamma-irradiated Rochelle salt, which is named center No. 2, was studied from the electron spin resonance spectra at both X- and K-band frequencies. The principal values of hyperfine coupling tensor and g-tensor were determined to be 28.0, 17.5 and 8.7 gauss and 2.0067, 2.0043 and 2.0024, respectively. The principal values of the hyperfine coupling tensor revealed that the radical was a typical \dotCH radical. Considering the experimental and theoretical results of \dotCH radicals ever obtained the most probable structure of the radical was determined to be (H)O\dotCHCOO–.
