Internal Heating Effect in the Mixed State of an A-15 Type V₃Si Single Crystal

Abstract

A thermal has been found in the mixed state of a V₃Si single crystal in the course of specific heat measurements. Analysis show that this anomaly is caused by an internal heating in the sample. Behaviors of specific heat give a strong support to the model proposed by Tachiki which explains the anomaly observed in the previous works on the ultrasonic attenuation and the sound velocity.
