An exact solution is given for the flow and heat transfer characteristics of a conducting liquid past an infinite porous flat plate taking Hall effects into account. It is found that the shear stress at the plate (electrically non-conducting) for the primary flow is independent of the magnetic field as well as the Hall parameter while that for the cross-flow vanishes at the plate. This asymptotic solution exists for suction velocity greater than the Alfvén velocity.
