The electron impact spectra have been measured for electron energies between 300 eV and 1000 eV and scattering angles between 50° and 110°. The ratio of the inelastic to elastic cross section has been less than about 5×10−2 for 61P and 6p′3P excitations in the energy regions mentioned above. The angular dependences of both the cross sections for 61P and 6p′3P excitations have been similar but rather smoother than that of the elastic one. Strictly forbidden 71S excitation has been observed in the electron impact energies between 300 eV and 500 eV.
