A new emission from the surface of Kl crystal has been found under the irradiation of a N2 laser light. This emission band is centered at 420 nm and its half width about 0.09 eV. It is observable only in the crystal whose surface has been exposed to air. Since this condition is similar to that found in the formation of V2 center and the excitation spectrum of this emission band resembles to the absorption spectrum of V2 center, we propose that V2 center existing in the crystal surface is responsible for this omission band.
