Nonlinear susceptibility −3⁄4χ₂h₀² as well as the normal susceptibility χ₀ was measured for a spin glass alloy Pt_0.98Mn_0.02 using the Hartshorn bridge. The sign of χ₂ was found to be negative. Our result explains the magnetic field dependence of the susceptibility observed in AuFe.
